Statement of faith

I. VERBAL INSPIRATION - We believe the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the Old and New Testament, to be the verbally inspired Word and revelation of God, inerrant, infallible, and God breathed as given in the original manuscript (Psalm 19:7-11; II Timothy 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:16-21; Luke 24:13-28; John 16:12-16; Jonah 1:1).

II. DEITY AND VIRGIN BIRTH - We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, that He is the incarnate Son of God, the second person in the blessed Trinity, Very God of Very God, for Whom and by Whom all things were created. (John 1:1-14; 14:9; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18-25; John 10:36) Man is not an evolved beast, but a fallen creation (Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:7).  He can only be re-created in righteousness in Jesus Christ. (II Corinthians 5:17; Titus 3:4; John 1:12, 13).

III. THE TRINITY - We believe in the Triune God,:Father, Son and Holy Spirit--three persons (I John 5:1-8).  The Holy Spirit is the infallible interpreter of the infallible Scriptures (John 16:7-15).

IV. BLOOD ATONEMENT - We believe in the substitutionary atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ that He, by the grace of God, tasted death for every man, and that all must be born again or are forever lost (Hebrews 2:9; John 6:44-69; 3:1-18; Romans 3:25; Rev. 1:5; Hebrews 9:22; I Peter 1:18, 19).

V. RESURRECTION - We believe in the bodily resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, and that He ascended bodily into the heavens, and is now at the right hand of God as our Mediator, Priest, and Advocate. (Acts 3:12-26; John 20; Hebrews 9:24; I Corinthians 15:12-28)

VI. JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH - We believe that man is justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ(Romans 5:1).

VII. ETERNAL SECURITY - We believe in the eternal security of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:27-29).

VIII. KINGSHIP, SECOND COMING, AND JUDGMENT - We believe in the Kingship of Jesus Christ (Revelation 11:15; 19:11-21; I Thessalonians 1:9, 10).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           A. In this blessed hope, the personal, pre-millennial and imminent return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for all believers in Christ (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Corinthians 15:50-55; Acts 1:11; Titus 2:13).
B. That He must come with His saints to execute judgment upon the ungodly nations (Jude 14, 15; Matthew 25:31-46).
C. That He will cast Satan into the abyss and establish His earthly kingdom and reign 1,000 years (Revelation 19:19-20; 20:1-6).

IX. OF A GOSPEL CHURCH - We believe that a visible church of Christ is a congregation of baptized believers, associated by faith and fellowship of the gospel; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; and exercising the rights and privileges invested in them by His Word; that its only Scriptural officers are Bishops, or Pastors, and Deacons, whose qualifications, claims, and duties are defined in the epistles to Timothy and Titus.

X. OF BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER - We believe that scriptural Baptism is the immersion in water of a believer, in the name of the Father, and Son and Holy Ghost; to show forth, in a solemn and beautiful emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, with its effect in our death to sin and resurrection to a new life; that it is prerequisite to the privileges of a church relation; and to the Lord's Supper; in which the members of the church, by the sacred use of bread and juice are to commemorate together the dying love of Christ; preceded always by solemn self-examination.

XII. FBC's multiple occupancy restrooms are designed for single sex use only as indicated on the sign listed on those restrooms. "Sex" is the biological sex as determined by the physical condition of a person's chromosomes and anatomy as identified at birth and indicated on their birth certificate. This policy is consistent with Gods Word which sets forth the distinctiveness of the male and female sex as Jesus Christ taught in Matthew 19:4. A genderless single stall bathroom located in the office complex is available for anyone to use.  All inhouse/community outreach ministries including but not limited to the Thrift Store, Cafe, Resource Center, wedding-funeral usage, Food Pantry, Counseling Center, etc are religious entities of FBC which operate in line with our constitution, by-laws, faith statements and operational policies.
