Our purpose at FBC is four-fold:
W4 will be the measuring tool for all we do. As more and more people move around the base-path from being a new Christian or new member to a person who takes others on the journey around the base-path, we will know how healthy we are as a church. W4 will also be our guide for planning and budgeting. Everything we do will be an act of worship to God, will help people in the walk, will give people an opportunity to serve and will reach people who have not heard the good news. Following is an explanation of each element of W4.
What is W4?
W4 stands for Worship, Walk, Work, Witness. These principles serve as a guideline for daily Christian living; they are drawn from the Biblical truths and mandates that provide a foundation for a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
Worship is more than just singing a few songs on Sunday morning. It’s a way of life, something we do with our whole body and all our actions.
(Psalm 100:2, Luke 4:8, John 4:24, Romans 12:1)
A life-long process of spiritual growth and maturity.
(1 Corinthians 13:10-11, Hebrews 5:13-14)
God has endowed each of us with unique spiritual gifts. We are called to use them for His glory, as one part of the Body of Christ.
(1 Corinthians 12:7-14, Ephesians 2:10, Ephesians 4:11-16)
Share the good news! One of our main purposes as Christians is to spread the gospel. Remember, you can’t save anyone – that is God’s job. But you can go into the world and share the truth with others.
