I was born in Omaha, Nebraska. When I was five, my family moved to Witchita, Kansas where my family attended Glenville Baptist Church. My parents enrolled us in Christian Challenge School, where we attended until we moved to Delaware in 1981. During our years in Kansas, my parents also had us involved in Salvation Army Basketball and AYSO soccer. When we moved to New Castle, Delaware, we began attending First Baptist Church and my parents enrolled us in New Castle Baptist Academy, a school run by the church. At NCBA I remained involved in basketball and soccer until my graduation in 1986.

After graduation, I attended Pensacola Christian College as a Physical Education major with a History minor. This is also where I played my first year of college basketball. After two years, I transferred to Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri where I majored in Elementary Education with a Bible Minor. I played my final three years of college basketball at BBC. After graduation, my wife and I moved back to New Castle, Delaware where I was hired by First Baptist Church to work at New Castle Baptist Academy. For the past twenty years i have taught jr high and high school, worked as athletic director and high school administrator, coached soccer, basketball, and baseball, and have been summer camp director. I have also served as an usher, on the finance team, teen counselor, college class teacher, liaison between First Baptist Church and Tall Oaks Classical School, and interim youth pastor.

My wife Melody and I married in 1992. We have served together in ministry for our entire marriage. The Lord has blessed us with three awesome children. Two daughters, Alyssa and Mackenzie, and one son, Bryce.
